The 20 Questions
Jan 15th, 2008 Posted in personal | 117 comments »A tag from Raymond. I need to answer these twenty questions.
RULES:
Remove 1 question from below, and add in your personal question, make it a total of 20 questions, then tag 8 people in your list, list them out at the end of this post. Notify them in their chat box that he/she has been tagged.
1.) Have you ever made a wish on a falling star? Did it come true?
Falling or not, I always make a wish upon the stars. Sarap mag-stargazing sa bubong namin. Some of my wishes did come true.
2.) At what age do you wish to marry?
I’m not so sure. I have no time-line where marriage is concern.
3.) What color do you like most?
At the moment, I like orange. Since moving to a new place last year, I’m able to marvel at the beautiful sunset again. Especially on weekends, where I can just sit at the roof deck and wait for the sun to set, until it’s completely hidden behind the mountains.
4.) Where is the place that you want to go the most?
France. I’d like to visit its countryside. But I’ve yet to learn French and have yet to save up for my plane ticket, pocket money and other travel expenses. When will it happen? I don’t know. Maybe in the years to come.
5.) Which part of you that you hate the most?
Hmmm… This is a tricky question.
Let’s see. I’m comfortable with myself, so, maybe, it’s not right that I should hate anything about me.
6.) When you encounter a sad moment, what do you do?
I have this tendency of brooding over sad events, especially if I’m not the affected person. Ewan ko ba. I feel sad for sad people.
7.) What are you afraid to lose the most?
Of course, the people that matter to me most.
8.) If you win $1 million, what would you do?
Buy myself a car, because I really need it. Then, I’ll save some of the remaining money and share some.
9.) If you meet someone that you love, would you confess to him/her?
I’m too shy to do that. So, NO, I will not.
10.) List out 3 good points of the person who tagged you.
Foo is a new blog friend. Pero mukhang mabait naman sya, malamang computer wiz din, at halatang devoted blogger!
11.) What are the requirements that you wish from your other half?
Be a good person most of the time and be crazy once in a while!
12.) Till now, what is the moment that you regret the most?
Not spending more time with my baby niece. I didn’t realize I wasn’t always there for her until the day that she had to leave and be cradled once more in God’s loving embrace.
13.) Which type of person do you hate the most?
Yung mga plastic lang, tapos yung mga sinungaling din.
14.) What is your ambition?
To travel the world! Hahahaha!
15.) What is the thing that will make you think he is bad?
Pag di sya marunong rumespeto.
16.) What is it that people doesn’t know about you?
Secret. Hehehe. I still don’t want them to know.
17.) What is your motto in life?
Cliché, but I do follow the golden rule. Isa pang cliché: Patience is indeed a virtue.
18.) What kind of chocolate do you prefer?
Dark chocolate. The bitter the taste, the more I love it.
19.) In 2008, do you have a new year’s resolution?
I don’t make resolutions. I just try to be a better person everyday.
20.) If your better half is cheating on you, will you forgive her?
I will forgive him. But it would also signal that its time we live “separate lives.”
Hey, MC, Sherma, WitchyBoop, Mitsuru, Len, Hitokirihoshi, Tayns, and Arminnehaha-it’s your turn to answer them!
Pahabol – A Post-Holiday Entry
Jan 9th, 2008 Posted in around the city, Culture, Event, Favorite Reads, Holiday, personal, Places, Tradition | 241 comments »E: Hanging Christmas wreaths at a mall, which I pass by everyday on weekdays. View from the ground floor.
F: “Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!” Electronic-operated decors that give snow effect on (artificial) Christmas trees.
G: View from the top. See the giant golden snowflakes?
H: 2007’s giant Christmas tree in Cubao (Araneta Center). That’s how it looks at daytime.
I: Well-lit giant Christmas tree at night. Took the picture while stuck in traffic.
J: GMA Network’s Christmas tree. Again, a shot taken from the window of a vehicle. The diver had to stop in Kamuning–at the MMDA office (figure out why he, the driver, had to do that. Hehehe)
K: My nephew, hugging a Php2, 500-worth giant balloon Santa.
L: Christmas wreath on our door. Thanks to the sales clerk who helped us put it together!
M: Our humble tree, which perfectly fit the corner of our little house.
N: New Year’s Eve; fireworks starting to light up the streets in our neighborhood.
O: Another New Year’s Eve snap.
P: New Year won’t be complete without fireworks ablaze in the sky.
I hope you had a joyful Christmas and may this year be good to us all. Cheers!

Got tagged by Rhapsody. The instruction is to write down the three things I’m addicted to. No problem. Here they are:
MOVIES
This is a severe addiction. I go to the movies every week. I can watch 6-10 movies in a day. Maybe it runs in my blood. I got it from my grandfather na ginagawang tambayan ang sinehan .
I watch all kinds-art film, romantic, foreign language, thriller/horror, comedy, adventure… Sometimes it depends on my mood.
Among my favorites are Cinema Paradiso, Three Seasons, Amelie, The Wizard of Oz, Parenthood, and Love Me if You Dare.
With the movie collection I have at home… maybe I could start a small video shop, hmmm….
BOOKS
Ever since I was a child, I prefer books over computer games (I was already in college when I played Super Mario
) or other toys. I’m more of a fiction fan.
Sometimes I read two different books at the same time (one I read while on my way to somewhere and a different book beside my pillow to read before I sleep). Just can’t live without them. You learn a lot from them and they take you to places (real, fictitious/magical) without having to leave your home. And history. Yeah, there’s history in fiction books; a fun way to learn history. Sometimes, you find yourself in one of the characters in the story.
My books occupy more space in my room than my clothes, shoes and bags combined.
GUMAMELA (hibiscus)
Well, it’s my favorite flower.
I have a few pots of them in our small garden and I plan to add some more.
Now, I want you–insekto, dr. joy, len, mitsuru, witchy, sherma, and mithi–to share the three things you’re addicted to.

I had quite an adventure this morning. Or should I call it an unfortunate event? Anyway, it was already half past seven when I left the house and I know I’m late for work (hmmm… was I ever early?
I’m not a morning person and it’s really hard for me to wake up at the break of dawn.). Usually, I take the shuttle service (van, FX taxi) from our place to work. I’m among the daily commuters who line-up in FX terminals every morning hoping there are enough shuttles to accommodate all of us so we can get to where we are going as soon as possible.
Today’s a little different, though. Less than ten people were at the terminal when I arrived. It made me feel a little better. At least I don’t have to wait long. In a few minutes, I was sitting comfortably inside the van and in a few more minutes, off we go. The calm and steady motion of the vehicle soon lulled me to sleep. I don’t know how long I’ve dozed off, but I was suddenly pulled off from dreamland when the van abruptly stopped at a curve. Next thing I know, we were getting off because, unfortunately, the van was having some engine trouble. It was fine with me; I don’t get annoyed with things beyond my control. Besides, the driver has already called for help. In about 15 or 20 minutes, a new van arrived to pick us up.
In every misfortune, something good’s embedded in it for sure. You see, the place where we stopped, I pass by that area everyday. But I’ve never really appreciated or took time to look at it closely-here, where the city and the countryside fuse, a stretch of greenery greets your eyes.
I didn’t waste time and took a couple of snaps of a tree that caught my attention.
From across where I was standing. Isn’t it a sight to behold? I think it’s an acacia tree.
A closer shot. I can just imagine how grand and sturdy it will look years and years from now. I hope no one will cut it down.

I’ve grown a liking to one of Jollibee’s spicy burgers–Yum Cheesy Chili con Carne burger. Being born and raised in Bicol, I’m used to the spicy/chili (puwede ring super-anghang
) taste. You’ve got to try this one. Really good. The chili con carne blends well with the burger (beef patty) and cheese. Oh, well, chili con carne’s more delicious with lots of cheese in it (I use cheese to salt my chili con).Pag na-try mo, I’m sue you’re gonna love it, too. Parang gusto mong sabayan si Sarah Geronimo na sumayaw habang kumakanta ng “Spice, spice burger!”
My cheesy chili con carne burger… yummy merienda. Mmmmm…

Nov 9th, 2007 Posted in personal | 122 comments »This e-mail was in my inbox today, from one of my friends who’s into trivias and shared this news clip with me. It’s about one of the 80′s (or 70′s?) actor who had a very short-lived career in the Philippines: Tom Babauta. Here’s the news clip:
